Francois is a young boy growing up in the shadow of highly accomplished, athletic parents, constantly feeling their disappointment towards his sickly nature. But upon making an unusual discovery in the attic of his home, his parents attitude towards him takes on a very strange form, one that is adopted in the hopes that he will not uncover a secret from the past that will change their way of live forever if revealed.

Based on Philippe Grimbert's fact-inspired novel, "Un secret" is a fine drama that stands as Gallic vet Claude Miller's best in at least a decade.
Dennis Harvey, Variety -
It's a gripping story, extremely well acted.
Philip French, The Observer -
This is an affecting, powerful film that deals with the very human response to the inhuman suffering of French Jews in World War Two. Miller has crafted an intelligent, meditative response to a seismic and cruel moment in French history.
